Corn Belly's

Last night we went to Thanksgiving Point and went to the corn maze.  It was so fun!  My parents and my brother (with his friend) came down and we had a blast together.  They had so much stuff for the kids to do.  Emmy was running everywhere not wanting to miss a moment.  Ethan (of course) was right behind her....but did take a moment to jump on the princess jumping castle.  Preston loved walking around and grabbing straw.  We loved being with my parents and enjoyed the company.  Thank You!!!

Here the kids are sliding down a HUGE slide.

Emery loved the Pumpkin Princess.  Here they are sitting with her in her carriage.  Mom put the wig on Ethan.  I hope they have the Princess area next year!

Here Jac and I are all hyped up to go through the monster.  We are ready!

Here is the after shot of us going through the monster.  (and yes, that really is my scared face =P)

Here Presters and I are riding Old Gertie, the cow, on the cow train that takes us through the pumpkin patch.

My cute Emery!

Ethan got the biggest cow.  They loved it!

Ethan playing on the climbing his way to the top.

Doesn't Preston look warm.

My cute little....Ethan?!?

Family Halloween Party

Every year we have a Halloween Party with Jac's extended family.  It is his Grandma's big event.  She makes Pillow cases for the grand kids every year.  So we enjoy family we haven't seen forever and are fed.  What more could you ask for? Here are some pics of the big party.

Emmy is Princess Leia this year.  She really wanted to be her, so I went with the Star Wars theme.  I couldn't find any "Leia" wigs so I bought a pair of brown tights that we form into buns and wa-laa a wig!

Preston is our little Yoda.

Ethan is a Storm Trooper.  He wanted the costume because he's a "bad guy."  So he is a "bad guy" for Halloween this year.  He also calls his mask a helmet.  He is so funny!

Here you go, Sis.  Here is a taste of our family pictures....and we love them!  Our friend was so sweet to squeeze us in her busy schedule and take pictures of us.  Thanks Rochelle!  We are so pleased with them.

The Bike Parade!!!

Last Friday, my friend had some people in the neighborhood over and had a bike parade.  It was so fun.  The kids decorated their bikes and rode in a parade!  My friend's sister-in-law came by and painted faces.  Emery wanted a cat and Ethan, of course, wanted to be a tiger.  Thank you so much!

Emery missed the riding in the parade because she went to dance...but Ethan helped push Bekah in the stroller.  While the parade was going past him (which would mean Ethan would follow in the line) he just walked in circles.  Bekah, I'm sure, got dizzy.  haha.  Kids are so funny!
Ha, Emery actually looks like a cat in this photo.

Don't you just love the tiger teeth...Grrrr

Such a big helper!

A girl even helped Preston ride on the swing.
Thank you!

What Christmas Eve was like in my family as a child

Warning:  This is an attempt to write down my memories before I forget them! (ha) My sister wrote a blog post about journal writing, and it really inspired me.  So, if you want to breeze past this post, you can.  I just pulled this question out of a journal jar thingy.

What was Christmas Eve like....hmmm...let me think.  I remember my Grandma's house during the holidays.  I love the smell of her house, and it brings back so many memories.  Maybe not certain events but feelings of love, security, warmth and faith.  My Grandparents always have a great big Christmas tree that is beautifully decorated in their front room.  It is so peaceful.  I love to sit in her front room, and if you really listen the Spirit of Christmas is present.  In my Grandma's front room, I have often contemplated about Christs birth and how much the gospel means everything to me in my life.

On a lighter note, when I was younger, Christmas Eve was always exciting.  We always acted out the "Nativity" scene from the scriptures.  We would eat popcorn balls, that was an inevitable family tradition recipe during the Christmas season.  We would always get a pair of new pj's from Santa's helper.  On Christmas Eve, there is something in the air that rings of Christ's Birth.  (and also the excitement of hearing Santa's Reindeer on top of the roof)  Often times I would fall asleep with such anticipation.  In the morning, my brother would come and wake everybody up and we would run into my parents bedroom and jump on them to wake them up.  Always screaming, MERRY CHRISTMAS!  S-l-o-w-l-y, my dad would get up and check to see if Santa came.  All of us kids would have to brush our teeth before we could go check out and see if "Santa came."  We would line up at the top of the stairs from youngest to oldest.  My dad would video tape us coming down the stairs and wishing our family a "Merry Christmas."  Around the tree, my dad would hand out our Christmas gifts one by one so we can watch everyone open their presents.  I love this because then you can actually see a person's reaction when you are so excited for them to open the gift you got for them.  (The act of giving is always good during Christmas) And with tradition, we always had a yummy breakfast casserole after all the presents were opened.  (which by the way, I need the recipe)

I am so grateful to my parents for giving me such great memories during the Christmas season. They have taught me by their examples and love how to truly "give" during Christmas.  Love you guys!

Life in the fast lane....

Thanks to my Aunt and Uncle...we have a 3rd driver at our house.  Emery, I must say, is a pro!  We received a Jeep Power Wheel...and my children love it!  Emmy usually dominates the drivers seat and Ethan is happy as a clam to sit right next to her in the passenger's seat.  Ethan is still getting used to driving.  He loves to go in circles and stick his head out and watch the wheels go round....so when Emmy gets sick of that, she's right back in the driver's seat.

(okay, so the battery is about dead, but you get the idea)

Emery's Hair (once again)

Anyway, Emery has been a real good sport about trying new hair do's.  I tried this one, and we both love it. Emery calls it the "criss-cross."  Sometimes we do it in pony's and some times we do "some up and some down."

My business party went well.  So, I will be posting more interesting stuff since I won't have to be focused 100% on the party.  Thanks for all those who bought stuff.  I appreciate it.
